We will transform Tamil Nadu into a state that has achieved economic sovereignty.
In the 2026-27 financial year Tamil Nadu's debt exceeds Rs. 10.71 lakh crore. In its single five-year term, the DMK government has borrowed more than the combined debt taken on by all governments that ruled Tamil Nadu before it. Every rupee being spent to pay interest on the debt this government has taken is siphoned away from funds that should be spent on education, healthcare, and village roads. The TVK government's approach will not be one that wastes money that ought to be spent on the people. Without imposing new taxes on the people of Tamil Nadu, it will prevent losses, grow revenue, and build economic structures in new ways. The TVK government will pursue revenue growth through modern methods such as eradicating corruption, mobilising overseas Tamils to attract new investment, reviving micro and small enterprises, technology, ecology, and new knowledge-driven capability.
