Southern Region (Madurai, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar, Kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Tenkasi, Theni, Dindigul)
• Southern Region Industrial Revival Act: The Nanguneri Special Economic Zone will be immediately converted into a Free Trade Warehousing Zone. • A special government body headed by a cabinet-rank officer will be set up to complete the Madurai-Thoothukudi rail and industrial corridor within just two years, and administrative delays and problems in land acquisition will be resolved. • Kulasekarapattinam space industrial park expansion – The Thoothukudi – Tirunelveli area will be declared India's first space industry investment area. A space industrial park will be set up on 2000 acres, and industrial investors including satellite manufacturing companies and drone manufacturers who invest there will be given tax exemption for 10 years. • Renewable energy scheme at Thoothukudi port – At Thoothukudi port, investments operated by renewable energy will be made. In this, green hydrogen producers will be given a ten-year tax holiday. • Madurai – Virudhunagar weaving industry revival scheme – 400 crore rupees of funds will be allocated to modernise Madurai's handloom industry and Virudhunagar's industries, to set up power-loom industrial sheds, to market GI-tagged Madurai Sungudi sarees internationally, and to set up centres selling handicraft products. • Kanyakumari – Rameswaram blue economy zone – To modernise deep-sea fishing, encourage seaweed cultivation, improve marine tourism, process and sell seafood, and produce tidal and wind power, the Kanyakumari-Rameswaram coastal areas will be declared a blue economy zone. • Athangudi tiles export regularisation – Artisans who produce Athangudi tiles will be brought into the regularised micro and small industry sector. Through this, assistance will be given to increase their production capacity and to export. • Revival of the traditional handloom industry in Sivaganga – Financial assistance will be given to traditional handloom weavers in Sivaganga to improve their trade. • Welfare of Dindigul lock manufacturers – Action will be taken to regularise the world-famous Dindigul lock manufacturers and bring them into the micro and small industry sector. Through this, they will be given export certificates and international market opportunities will be created. • Tenkasi cardamom and spice products processing centre – A processing centre will be set up for farmers in Tenkasi who produce cardamom and spice products to market their produce internationally. • Papanasam green tourism trail – A Papanasam green tourism trail will be set up covering places such as Courtallam, Sengottai pass, and Manimutharu falls. • Tenkasi industrial estate – A SIDCO industrial estate will be set up near Tenkasi to encourage food and spice products processing and handicraft products manufacturing. • Theni cardamom processing and value-addition centre – India's first cardamom processing and value-addition centre will be started at Bodi in Theni district. • Theni – Uthamapalayam tea trail – To attract international tourists, a tea tourism trail covering small tea estates in the Theni hill areas will be set up. • Theni grape wine processing zone – A horticulture processing zone will be set up including units for making wine and fruit juice and facilities for making export-grade wine.
