Katchatheevu fishing rights

Per the India–Sri Lanka Katchatheevu accord, TVK will press the Union to restore and protect the traditional fishing rights of Indian–Tamil fishers in the Gulf of Mannar. It will firmly urge the Union to fully stop the arrest of Tamil Nadu fishers by the Sri Lankan navy.

    After the Sri Lankan navy arrested 9 Rameswaram fishermen, the CM raised the issue directly with the Prime Minister in Delhi and wrote to the External Affairs Minister seeking expeditious diplomatic steps to release all arrested fishermen.
