Accelerating irrigation projects

To ensure irrigation security, groundwater recharge and drought-prevention capacity across Tamil Nadu, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam will implement a Mission-mode programme to rapidly execute region-wise water infrastructure projects. This will include other major projects such as the Anaimalaiyaru-Nallaru linking project (Tiruppur/Coimbatore), the Erthalav-Pulikarai linking project (Krishnagiri, building check dams and sluice gates in the Cauvery and Thirumanimuthar areas of Namakkal district), the rejuvenation of the Upper Vaippar and Mudangiyar rivers (Virudhunagar/Rajapalayam), the Ramanadhi-Aimpunadhi linking canal project (Tenkasi/Alangulam), and the Thamirabarani-Karumeniyaru-Nambiyaru linking project (Tirunelveli/Thoothukudi).
