Turmeric, mango and copra coconut value-addition centres!

Erode turmeric, Krishnagiri mango, and copra coconut produced in the Kongu region by Tamil Nadu farmers will be value-added so that they fetch higher prices. • A turmeric extraction park will be set up in Erode, through which high-grade turmeric used for medicinal products will be separated from ordinary turmeric. Because of this, instead of selling all turmeric at a single price, farmers will get a higher price by grading and selling. • Freight transport facilities will be set up to take mangoes produced in Krishnagiri directly to Chennai and Bengaluru airports for export. Through this, mango producers will be protected from being affected by price falls in the local market. • To add value to coconut and coconut products, a coconut value-addition centre will be set up in the Kongu region.
