Revival of traditional livestock breeds

To revive Tamil Nadu's traditional cattle breeds - Kangayam, Pulikulam, Umbalachery, Bargur and Alambadi - women in self-help groups who rear them will be given Rs 5000 as a livestock subsidy. Livestock banks will be created to sell, at fair prices to farmers, the livestock products made by women's self-help groups.
