Northern Region (Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chennai)
• Tirupattur-Vellore-Ranipet Leather Industry Development Scheme: 500 crore rupees of funds will be allocated to carry out leather tanning industry in Tirupattur-Vellore-Ranipet districts at a standard equivalent to European countries. Skill training will be given to every leather worker and certificates issued. ISO/BRC certificates will be given to leather products. • Chennai – Hosur – EV vehicle spare parts manufacturing – 1500 crore rupees will be allocated to encourage micro and small enterprises that make automobile spare parts to make EV vehicle spare parts. • Chennai – Hosur defence sector equipment manufacturing – Appropriate support and guidance will be given for Tamil Nadu's enterprises to do work in DRDO and HAL. Sriperumbudur – Oragadam electronic spare parts manufacturing park: a spare parts manufacturing park will be set up at a cost of 500 crore rupees for micro and small enterprises engaged in spare parts manufacturing associated with electronic companies such as Samsung and Foxconn. • Vallam – Vadakal Aerospace Park development – The Aerospace Park in Vallam-Vadakal in Sriperumbudur will be upgraded and converted into a centre for making spare parts needed by the space sector and satellite spare parts. • Kanchipuram silk tourism – An e-commerce export website will be created to take the glory of GI-tagged Kanchipuram silk to the world. Micro and small enterprises engaged in handloom weaving production will be regularised. A silk tourism trail will be established. • Tiruvannamalai handloom weaving development – Investment funds and e-commerce sales services will be provided to raise the economy of Tiruvannamalai handloom weavers. • Cuddalore SIPCOT cleaning – 500 crore rupees of funds will be allocated for wastewater treatment and pollution control in Cuddalore SIPCOT. • Villupuram – Cuddalore biofuel and ethanol production unit – Units will be set up to produce biofuel and ethanol as a by-product from the agricultural waste of Villupuram – Cuddalore districts. Through this, environmental damage caused by burning agricultural waste will be reduced. • Maraimalainagar SIPCOT expansion – To support motor spare parts manufacturing in Chennai, the existing SIPCOT in Maraimalainagar will be expanded and EV Battery Testing and Certification Labs will be set up. • Siruseri SIPCOT IT Park - The TVK government will upgrade the Siruseri IT Park from an ordinary information technology park into a special centre for the Fintech and Artificial Intelligence (AI) sectors. For this, dedicated GCC (Global Capability Centres) facilities and integrated Co-working infrastructure will be developed. • Green-path steel production – To control the environmental damage caused by the 'steel rolling mill' in Tiruvallur, 300 crore rupees will be allocated to ensure green-path production. • Mappedu SIPCOT expansion – The demand for sensors, semiconductors and EV Control Units needed for vehicles is increasing. To meet this, a motor-electronics spare parts manufacturing zone will be set up in Mappedu SIPCOT. • Kallakurichi sugar and ethanol production development – Sugar mills and ethanol production enterprises in Kallakurichi will be modernised. • New industrial estate in Kallakurichi – A SIDCO/SIPCOT industrial estate will be created in Kallakurichi.
