Clean rivers

Because previous governments failed to follow proper environmental controls for industries, Tamil Nadu's three major rivers - the Cauvery, Vaigai and Thamirabarani - have faced destruction. Under the TVK government this will be firmly prevented. In areas like Erode and Tiruppur, the discharge of textile waste into rivers will be completely stopped, and attention will be given to alternative arrangements. A Cauvery riverbank park in Tiruchi, a Vaigai riverbank park in Madurai, and a Thamirabarani riverbank park in Tirunelveli will be built.
