நீலகிரி-கொடைக்கானல் மலைப்பகுதிகளில் இயற்கை வளங்களும், மனித வளமும் அதிகளவில் இருந்தாலும், அவற்றை அந்தப் பகுதி மக்களின் பொருளாதார உயர்வுக்காக பயன்படுத்த முறையான திட்டங்கள் இல்லை. இதை மாற்றும் வகையில், கீழ்க்கண்ட நடவடிக்கைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும். • Nilgris Premium என்னும் தனித்த டீ பிராண்டு உருவாக்கப்பட்டு, அதில் 200 கோடி ரூபாய் முதலீடு செய்யப்படும். மேலும், சர்வதேச சுற்றுலாப் பயணிகளைக் கவரும் வகையில் 50 தேயிலை எஸ்டேட்களை உள்ளடக்கி டீ சுற்றுலா வழித்தடம் உருவாக்கப்படும். • கொடைக்கானல் Homemade சாக்லேட்டுகள், நீலகிரி Cheese, மலைத்தேன் ஆகியவற்றை நேடியாக சிங்கப்பூர், அரபு நாடுகள், ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளுக்கு ஏற்றுமதி செய்ய உணவுப் பதப்படுத்துதல் பூங்காக்கள் அமைக்கப்படும். • பழங்குடியினர் தங்கள் மலைவாழ் மக்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தை முன்னேற்றும் வகையில், அவர்களே நிர்வகிக்கும் Home Stay-க்கள் உருவாக்கப்படும். இதற்காக சிறப்பு Eco-Tourism Board அமைக்கப்படும். • மலைவாழ் விவசாயிகளுக்கு உதவும் வகையில் 150 கோடி ரூபாய் செலவில் விவசாய தொழில்நுட்ப ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையம் நீலகிரியில் அமைக்கப்படும்Although the Nilgiris-Kodaikanal hill areas have abundant natural and human resources, there are no proper schemes to use them for the economic upliftment of the people of that area. To change this, the following measures will be undertaken. • A distinct tea brand called Nilgris Premium will be created, and 200 crore rupees will be invested in it. Further, to attract international tourists, a tea tourism trail covering 50 tea estates will be created. • Food processing parks will be set up to directly export Kodaikanal Homemade chocolates, Nilgiri Cheese and hill honey to Singapore, Arab countries and European countries. • To improve the livelihood of the hill-dwelling tribal people, Home Stays managed by themselves will be created. For this, a special Eco-Tourism Board will be set up. • To help hill-dwelling farmers, an agricultural technology research station will be set up in the Nilgiris at a cost of 150 crore rupees.
