Tamil Nadu as a global content hub; AVGC-XR creative economy
Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) combined with Extended Reality (XR) form a versatile digital technology that is a fast-growing sector today. Tamil Nadu has notable capability in this. The TVK government will elevate Tamil Nadu into a global creative hub in this field. To take the talent of our youth to the world, and to showcase our cultural pride on the global stage, a Creative Economy Policy will be designed for this purpose. Subsidy for works created in Tamil Nadu - The government will provide as subsidy 25% of the project cost for animation, gaming and film production undertaken from Tamil Nadu by international and national organisations. Creators' centre - AVGC centres with high-performance computers will be set up in 500 government schools. Formalised digital creators - YouTubers, podcasters and digital artists will be formalised under a professional identity like MSME. Through this, they can obtain government benefits such as GST concessions and medical insurance. Gaming startup - Training centres with motion-capture studios to encourage gaming startups IP protection fund - An IP protection fund for Tamil digital creators to protect their works and hold worldwide copyrights GST refund for VFX studios - VFX studios opened in smaller towns of Tamil Nadu will be given a five-year state GST refund.
