Mental health treatment is a largely neglected medical crisis in Tamil Nadu today. A 10-bed mental health counselling medical unit will be opened alongside every community hospital. One mental health counsellor will be employed at every high school. A budget allocation of Rs.500 crore per year will be made for mental health treatment.
