தமிழகத்தின் நீண்ட நெடிய கடற்கரையை ஒட்டியுள்ள வேதாரண்யம் தொடங்கி ராமேஸ்வரம் மண்டபம் வரை கடல்சார் சுற்றுலா வழித்தடம் உருவாக்கப்படும். அந்தந்த உள்ளூர் மீனவர்களே அந்தப் பகுதியில் சுற்றுலாப் பயணிகளின் வழிகாட்டிகளாகவும், கடலுக்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லும் கடலோடிகளாகவும் செயல்படுவார்கள். இதன்மூலம், மீன்பிடித் தடைக்காலத்தில் அவர்களுக்கு ஏற்படும் வருவாய் இழப்புத் தடுக்கப்படும். ராமேஸ்வரம் – தனுஷ்கோடி தமிழகத்தின் முதல் கடல்சார் சுற்றுலா மாவட்டமாக அறிவிக்கப்படும். ராமேஸ்வரம் – இலங்கை தலைமன்னார் இடையே படகுப்போக்குவரத்து தொடங்க முயற்சிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும்.A maritime tourism route will be created along Tamil Nadu's long coastline, from Vedaranyam to Rameswaram Mandapam. The respective local fishers will act as guides for tourists in that area and as boatmen taking them to sea. Through this, the loss of income they suffer during the fishing ban period will be prevented. Rameswaram - Dhanushkodi will be declared Tamil Nadu's first maritime tourism district. Efforts will be made to start boat transport between Rameswaram and Talaimannar in Sri Lanka.
